A Day of Reflection and Renewal

Primary INSET marks a meaningful pause in the school calendar — a powerful moment for reflection, collaboration, and recommitment to the values that guide our work with children every day.
The primary INSET day on 22 April marked a meaningful pause in the school calendar — a powerful moment for reflection, collaboration, and recommitment to the values that guide our work with children every day.
At Equinox Learning Trust, we believe that education is about more than academic outcomes. It’s about nurturing the whole child — creating environments where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to thrive. During our INSET day, staff from across our team came together to focus on behaviour, school culture, and the healthy routines that form the foundation of student development.
“This wasn’t just a training session,” said Francois Walker, CEO of Equinox, “It was a chance to reconnect with why we do what we do, to share best practices, reflect on what’s working, and explore new ways to build consistent, empowering spaces for learning.”
The day’s discussions were guided by themes of balance and growth. Much like the equinox — a moment of harmony between light and dark — we aim to create schools where structure and care, challenge and support, and consistency and curiosity all coexist. These elements form the heart of transformational education.
Through shared routines and a strong, nurturing culture, we prepare our students not only for academic success but for lifelong learning and wellbeing. Every day offers a new beginning, and days like this give educators the space to reflect, reset, and recommit to our shared mission.
We’re proud to be part of a trust that doesn’t just educate, but inspires real transformation.
