As a Governor
Outstanding governance is vital to the success of our Trust and our academies. People from all walks of life have been governors at our academies. It can be a highly rewarding experience and a chance to contribute to the local community while gaining and developing your skills further.
You do not need any special qualifications or prior experience as full training will be provided. We ask, however, that you share our aspirations to create exceptional life chances for all.
Being a governor is a voluntary position which has a huge impact. Diversity is a crucial component as our governors bring a wide range of perspectives. We are incredibly grateful to the highly skilled people who commit their time and experience to our academies. Governance positions are voluntary and, whilst flexible, you must be able and willing to dedicate some time to attending several governance meetings per year, as well as a couple of visits to the school to see how it operates and speak to pupils and staff. Experienced governors may also be asked to support school panels such as interviewing candidates and pupil exclusion appeals.
